Happy Quality Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) recognizes the importance of protecting personal information and complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan and other applicable data protection laws (hereinafter referred to as the “Personal Information Protection Act”).
The Company handles and protects personal information appropriately in accordance with the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”).
Unless otherwise defined herein, the definitions of terms shall follow those provided in the Personal Information Protection Act.
1. Definition of Personal Information
For the purpose of this Policy, “Personal Information” shall mean personal information as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
2. Purpose of Use of Personal Information
The Company shall use Personal Information for the following purposes:
- For procedures related to the use of the Company’s services;
- For responding to inquiries or requests for materials;
- For providing information regarding services, campaigns, events, and related announcements;
- For communications related to transactions;
- For verifying the identity of individuals and confirming inquiry details;
- For providing the Company’s services and related business operations;
- For analysis or machine learning using AI and other information processing technologies to improve or enhance the Company’s services or operational structure;
- For recruitment and selection processes;
- For other purposes reasonably associated with the above purposes.
If Personal Information is used for purposes other than those listed above, the Company shall clearly indicate the purpose of use and the contact point for inquiries.
3. Changes to the Purpose of Use
The Company may change the purpose of use of Personal Information within a scope that is reasonably deemed to be relevant.
In such cases, the Company shall notify the individual of the changed purpose or publicly announce it.
4. Restrictions on Use of Personal Information
The Company shall not handle Personal Information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use without the individual’s consent, except in the following cases:
- When required by applicable laws and regulations;
- When necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person and obtaining consent is difficult;
- When particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound growth of children and obtaining consent is difficult;
- When cooperation is necessary with a governmental organization or local public entity in performing duties prescribed by law and obtaining consent may impede the performance of such duties.
5. Proper Acquisition of Personal Information
- The Company shall acquire Personal Information properly and shall not acquire it through fraudulent or improper means.
- The Company shall not acquire Sensitive Personal Information without the individual’s consent, unless required by applicable laws.
- When receiving Personal Information from a third party, the Company shall confirm the circumstances of acquisition and the information of the provider as required by law (except where legal exceptions apply).
6. Security Control Measures
The Company shall take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of Personal Information and to ensure its secure management, and shall appropriately supervise employees and contractors handling such information.
7. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
The Company shall not provide Personal Information to third parties except in the following cases:
- When outsourcing operations within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use;
- When Personal Information is provided due to business succession such as mergers;
- When Personal Information is jointly used in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
When providing Personal Information to a third party located in a foreign country, the Company shall obtain the individual’s prior consent unless the requirements set forth by applicable laws are met.
8. Disclosure of Personal Information
When requested by an individual to disclose their Personal Information, the Company shall confirm the identity of the individual and disclose the information without undue delay, unless the Company is not obligated to do so under applicable laws.
9. Correction, Addition, and Deletion of Personal Information
When an individual requests correction, addition, or deletion of their Personal Information, the Company shall investigate the matter and take necessary measures, and notify the individual of the results.
However, this does not apply when the Company is not legally obligated to respond.
10. Suspension of Use and Provision of Personal Information
When an individual requests suspension of use or cessation of third-party provision of their Personal Information due to inappropriate handling by the Company, the Company shall promptly investigate the matter and take necessary measures, and notify the individual accordingly.
However, this does not apply where the Company is not legally obligated to comply.

12. Continuous Improvement
The Company shall periodically review the operational status of its handling of Personal Information and strive for continuous improvement.
This Policy may be amended without prior notice where necessary to comply with applicable laws or improve internal management when necessary.
